Overgrown Apparel

Overgrown Apparel is an apparel brand started by Tristian Laney in 2019 that focuses on strong textures and exaggerated silhouettes through the use of sustainable and unconventional textiles

The Flock- F/W 2025

Inspired by the history and life of pigeons of NYC and world wide, this collection looks at the eclectic textures and colors found in and decorating pigeons. The party and club subcultures of New York inspire the Y2K silhouettes and playful accessories.

Renewed Roots- BTS 2025

Connected to mall culture and the freedom associated with the 2000s teenage experience, I decided to reference natural and familiar silhouettes that were both trendy and timeless that encouraged layering and mix-matching. A vibrant but natural color pallette with an emphasis on greens and browns as well as natural, organic, or recycled fibers to fit with a move toward sustainability.

Eclectic Abduction- S/S 2024

Telling the tale of a race of queer aliens taking over a quaint retro town as a metaphor for the increasing sense of gay panic in modern media, Eclectic Abduction takes ready to wear pieces with elements of flair and pairs them with eccentric accessories, second hand textiles, and vintage vibes.

Overgrown- S/S 2023

Inspired by academic and religious architecture, night skies, and wild plant life, Overgrown is a collection that takes second hand and recycled objects and reworks them into every element of the design. Thrifted curtains, plastic bottles and tin cans, blankets, and more are transformed into designs that emphasize unique silhouettes, vintage elegance, and diversity.

Behind The Aura- S/S 2023

Combining the story of a queer kid growing up in a large high school in the midwest with the bubble-gum pop aesthetics of the early 60’s the Behind the Aura Collection displays the creation of my design philosophy, camp, creativity, and sustainability.
